Location: Brevard, NC
$30/hour + Housing
Are you a culinary professional with a passion for creating delightful dining experiences? Join us this summer as a Seasonal Chef and contribute to a vibrant camp community in the picturesque setting of Brevard, NC. From now until August 17th, immerse yourself in a role that blends your culinary skills with the joy of outdoor adventure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, Prepare, and Serve: Craft three nutritious and delicious meals daily for campers and staff, ensuring all dietary needs and food safety standards are met.
- Kitchen Management: Oversee inventory, ordering, and maintenance of kitchen equipment.
- Menu Development: Collaborate with camp directors and kitchen staff to create diverse menus that cater to various tastes and dietary restrictions.
- Supervise and Mentor: Lead and inspire kitchen staff, fostering a positive and professional work environment.
- Inclusive Dining Experience: Ensure a warm and welcoming dining atmosphere for all campers and staff.
- Staff Collaboration: Participate in staff training and meetings to enhance camp culture.
Qualifications:
- Culinary Expertise: Culinary training or equivalent experience in a professional kitchen.
- Food Safety Knowledge: Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Group Catering Experience: Proven ability in menu planning and food preparation for large groups.
- Dietary Accommodation: Skilled in accommodating special dietary needs and preferences.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Leadership: Effective communication and leadership skills for managing kitchen staff.
- Passion: Enthusiasm for creating positive dining experiences in a camp setting.
