Assistant Director of Finance


Are you ready to make a significant impact in the financial operations of a premier hospitality property? We are seeking an experienced and driven Assistant Director of Finance to take charge of accounting operations, ensuring financial accuracy and delivering strategic insights to support leadership decisions.


Responsibilities

As the Assistant Director of Finance, you will oversee the day-to-day functions of the accounting department, including payroll, income audit, and general ledger management. Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the general ledger accounts.
  • Leading and coordinating the schedules and workflows of the income audit, payroll, and general ledger teams.
  • Supervising and mentoring the Accounting team, including hiring and performance evaluations.
  • Compiling and submitting timely and accurate financial reports, including monthly financial statements.
  • Reviewing operational and flash reports to guarantee accuracy and completeness.
  • Facilitating internal and external audits, addressing findings, and implementing any required procedural changes.
  • Performing monthly balance sheet reconciliations and distributing financial summaries.
  • Managing month-end closing processes to meet established deadlines.
  • Submitting monthly tax reports and monitoring property permits and licenses.
  • Maintaining pertinent documentation, such as contracts and agreements.
  • Managing cash balances across accounts and preparing regular cash needs assessments.
  • Assisting with additional financial tasks or special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Ideal candidates will bring a combination of technical expertise and leadership skills. Required qualifications include:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (CPA designation preferred).
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of auditing experience within the hospitality industry or a mid- to large-sized public accounting firm.
  • Strong supervisory experience, with the ability to lead and develop a team.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial and reporting systems, with extensive familiarity with Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey financial insights and collaborate across teams.
