Title of Position: Banquet Event Manager
Job Description: Our Banquet Event Manager is responsible for the planning, setting up, and execution of banquet events and member events. He/She will work with clients to assist in the planning of events for our clients along with going over the details with each client. The Banquet Event Manager will take the time to understand what the client envisions for their event and help them flesh out specific details. The person in this Banquet Event Manager role will be the point of contact for the event and ensure each event features food, beverage, and service that meets and exceeds our clients’ expectations. The Banquet Event Manager will be responsible for setting up and breaking down of events in a timely and efficient manner. The ability to schedule, prioritize, and stay within budget for each event is a vital part of this Banquet Event Manager position.
- Minimum of 2-3 years current Managerial experience in a Catering setting
- Current Managerial experience with banquets and catering, especially in a planning position at a hotel, country club or similar high-volume restaurant is preferred
- Outstanding oral, written, and verbal communication skills
- Hands-on with hiring, training, and developing hourly employees
- Ability to build a steady client base and interact with the community
- Experience and thorough understanding of budgetary/financial goals and effective management skills to achieve or exceed these goals
- Strong Rolodex of contacts in the Lehigh Valley area is a plus

Marty started in the business very young and from the ground up. Dishwashing at the local diner was his way of financing his many travels. As a Boy Scout, Marty traveled to Japan, Israel and across the United States twice before the age of 17. Since then Marty has worked for Bennigan's, The Office and Charlie Brown's, TGI Friday's and Applebee's as a General Manager, Training General Manager and a District Manager. Marty also worked as a Food Service Manager for Genuardi Family Markets, a division of Safeway and was a guest speaker at the National Home Meal Replacement Seminar.
After many years on the road, Marty and his wife, Jill, settled in beautiful Bucks County, Pennsylvania, where they are enjoying the life of empty nesters. Their son, Jacob, works for Marty and handles the states of Arkansas and Delaware. Daughter, Dayna, has joined as a recruiter assistant for Colorado.
Now that he has made his final career change Marty has much more time to devote to his many activities with synagogue and choir. He is a lifetime Red Cross Blood Donor (over 60 pints donated so far) and regularly volunteers his cooking skills for charitable events.
