Title of Position: Bar Manager
Job Description: As the Bar Manager, you would support the General Manager by organizing outstanding work shifts and carrying out administrative responsibilities. The Bar Manager would deliver the leadership essential to ensure the bar continually operates up to company and industry standards. Your main responsibilities include overseeing that team members, team trainers and shift leaders complete all assigned tasks and serve safe, high-quality drinks and food in a friendly manner. As the Bar Manager, you would assist the General Manager with facility maintenance, recruitment, hiring and nurturing excellent employees and ensuring adherence to health and safety standards.

Qualifications
This position mandates a minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Bar Manager in a high-volume setting
The Bar Manager must be passionate about, and excel in, the development and mentoring of others
The ability to drive positive sales and elevate guest counts is compulsory for the Bar Manager
Trust, honesty, integrity and a heartfelt passion for customer satisfaction is a necessity for the Bar Manager
The Bar Manager should represent our company as a “brand ambassador” at all times

Matt Bodnar began his career by quickly identifying himself has an up-and-coming Hospitality Operations Leader. From 2013 to 2018, he managed small and large-scale events on Yachts in New York Harbor, oversaw Concession-style service in a sports arena, and managed Food & Beverage at an upscale, boutique hotel in Manhattan, before moving to Philadelphia and entrenching himself in the Philly food scene. He switched gears into Talent Acquisition and recruiting, utilizing his operational experience to connect with and identify top talent in the industry. He is thrilled to be joining the Gecko Hospitality team, supporting the Restaurant Division in Eastern PA/DE.
Matt describes himself as a "Food Guy". He loves to cook, eat, garden, watch Food Network and connect with professionals in the business. Other hobbies include playing golf and basketball, hiking/camping/just about anything outside, snowboarding, listening to music and spending time with friends and family (hopefully soon). He is extremely service and relationship-oriented, and strives to anticipate client needs and guide a seamless partnership through placement after placement.
