With majestic view of the California hills, this iconic Restaurant and Event Venue has recently completed a multi-million dollar renovation. This location has reestablished itself as a premier restaurant in the Los Angeles area, featuring walk in wine room, dry ageing meat lockers, multiple bars, and extensive special event and banquet rooms. We are looking for a superstar Director of Catering & Events Sales to make their mark and lead the Sales Department for this Flagship location. With a modern and elegant, yet cozy, environment, we want to create an atmosphere where guests can relax and enjoy themselves.

Job Description: Our Director of Catering and Event Sales plays a dynamic role in our business by assisting our customers. We plan and host parties at home or celebrations in offices by arranging to have our menu items, heating equipment and relevant party supplies prepared for the event. This professional will meet with the customer to organize the details of the function and will ensure operational compliance with health and fire regulations regarding food preparation and serving. The Director of Catering and Event Sales will report the progress of the caterings to the General Manager as needed and will be responsible for coordinating with additional departments and will investigate and resolve issues regarding food quality or service. Depending on staffing levels/fluctuations, the DOC will have on average 5 direct reports – 3 CSMs and 2 Coordinators, sometimes 4 CSMs and 1 coordinator.

  • 5-7 years of current Restaurant Catering/Sales Management experience in a Full Service Restaurant or Hotel
  • High volume background; must have Catering/Sales experience with Full Service Restaurant or a Hotel doing over $6 million per year in F&B sales
  • Outstanding leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Hands-on with hiring, training, and developing hourly employees
  • Ability to build a steady client base and interact with the community
  • Outside sales experience required
  • Must have strong knowledge of the market and extensive contacts to drive Catering Sales

Rob made the transition over to the recruiting side of the business with Gecko Hospitality in 2005.  Rob is responsible for the Southern California area for Gecko Hospitality.  When not working, Rob likes to spend as much time as possible being outside enjoying the lifestyle that Southern California offers, spending time with his 3 daughters. Rob is big MI State and Detroit sports fan.
