Job Title: Director of Operations
Location: San Diego, CA
Compensation: $90,000 - $100,000 base salary + performance-based bonus + insurance + mileage

We are a rapidly growing birria-focused restaurant concept in San Diego, known for our authentic flavors, innovative recipes, and community-driven approach. With two thriving locations and plans for significant expansion, we are seeking a passionate and experienced Director of Operations to help us build and sustain a scalable foundation for success.
Position Overview:
The Director of Operations will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing all aspects of restaurant operations. This leader will play a critical role in recruiting and developing top-tier talent, standardizing operational processes, and driving the success of both current and future locations. As a member of the leadership team, you will directly influence the growth trajectory of our brand.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operations Management: Ensure seamless day-to-day operations at both current and future locations, maintaining high standards for quality, service, and cleanliness.
- Team Recruitment & Development: Recruit, hire, and train high-performing managers and team members. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and growth.
- Standardization & Scalability: Develop and implement standardized operating procedures and systems to support rapid expansion.
- Financial Performance: Oversee budgets, manage P&L statements, and optimize labor, food, and operational costs to achieve profitability targets.
- Growth Support: Collaborate with ownership on site selection, new restaurant openings, and long-term strategic planning.
- Vendor & Inventory Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure consistent supply chain performance and cost control.
- Compliance: Ensure all locations adhere to health, safety, and labor regulations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of multi-unit management experience, preferably in a fast-casual or casual dining concept.
- Proven ability to lead teams, recruit talent, and drive organizational growth.
- Strong financial acumen, including experience managing budgets and optimizing P&L performance.
- Expertise in developing and implementing scalable processes and systems.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and adapt to evolving business needs.
- Must be bilingual in Spanish

Lucas Andrews has over 15 years of experience in restaurant operations and another 5 of that being in recruiting and onboarding and leadership experience. During high school, Lucas began his career as a busser and moved up the ranks and was a part of the managing team within three years while going to college. Lucas had held many different management positions before transitioning into recruitment.
He grew up in a suburb of Roseville in Northern California, then moved to Southern California to pursue his successful restaurant management career. Lucas’s’ ability to see talent and passion for others makes him an exceptional recruiter.
Lucas is a devoted family man and spends most of his free time with his wife Ashley, and his two sons – Callum and Liam, and daughter Presley. He enjoys football, boating, basketball, hiking and fantasy sports!
