CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:
We is seeking an Executive Chef (EC) for a private country club with relevant experience in a leadership culinary role, preferably in a private club environment.   The ideal candidate will be proficient in delivering an array of dining experiences (a la carte, buffet, catered) with a passion for creative food utilizing the freshest local ingredients. The club operates 7 days a week in the summer season and has a vibrant special events/banquet calendar. This individual will also work closely with and support our Clubhouse Manager and the Front-of-House staff in the delivery of outstanding culinary experiences for members and guests. This position reports directly to the Clubhouse Manager.

The Club’s waterfront location is seeking to compete among the many Rhode Island fine dining restaurants and would like to find a culinary professional who will pursue the same goal in the Club’s food outlets. The EC should be an individual who can lead, manage, and motivate the kitchen staff to achieve the objectives set by the Clubhouse Manager and the Club’s Board of Governors. He or she will establish kitchen policies and procedures, communicate these policies, and ensure that the policies are adhered to throughout the Club. The ideal EC will have a professional history which shows their attention to detail, reflects the highest standards of sanitation and safety, and highlights their ability to inspire their staff to approach these standards with the same level of focus. The EC will hold themselves accountable for achieving strategic goals, objectives and results. The EC ensures that the team creates and updates menus often, incorporating daily features, and will cater to members’ dietary restrictions and desires (ie. vegetarian, gluten free, etc.). The EC should have a proven track record of budgeting and controlling food and labor costs and should be adept at creating and managing multiple budgets.  They will also be responsible for food purchase specifications to control food quality and costs, and will work as a strategic and operational partner with the management team to develop information sharing, good communication, superior internal and external customer relationships and high-performance teamwork to achieve team objectives. The EC should demonstrate proper business ethics and personal integrity. Finally, the EC and their team will ultimately be responsible for planning and providing quality and healthy meals for club employees, as well members.

This is the standard we live up to, and all of our efforts are driven to achieve it. We will surround ourselves with people who share this passion for greatness, and will hold each other accountable for delivering excellence each day.
