Location: Palm Desert, California 92260
Salary: Up to $85,000 per annum, plus two incentive bonuses and insurance benefits
We are an upscale restaurant in Palm Desert, CA, specializing in elevated Hawaiian cuisine. We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Executive Sous Chef to join our culinary team. Our ideal candidate will have a background in fine dining, an innovative approach to Hawaiian cuisine, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of food safety and quality.
Support the Executive Chef in managing daily kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality food and efficient service
Participate in the creation and preparation of upscale Hawaiian dishes while ensuring consistent quality
Oversee and manage kitchen staff, including training, managing work schedules, and conducting performance reviews
Enforce high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and sanitation in the kitchen
Control operational costs and minimize waste
Participate in the selection of food suppliers and the sourcing of fresh ingredients
Act as the Executive Chef in their absence
Maintain a collaborative and respectful kitchen environment
Address and resolve any food quality or service complaints swiftly and professionally
Contribute to menu planning and innovation
Minimum of 5 years of culinary experience in a fine dining environment, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
Formal culinary training is preferred
Knowledge of food safety regulations and kitchen hygiene practices
Strong passion for and knowledge of Hawaiian cuisine and food trends
Ability to manage and motivate a kitchen team in a fast-paced, upscale environment
Excellent communication and organizational skills
