Job Description: Major Areas of Responsibility

Operations

  • Supports company initiatives within the department
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with clients, guests, subcontractors, not-for-profits and Restaurant team members
  • Acts as a liaison with team, including partner’s operational team, Restaurant team and other areas as needed to ensure efficient operational performance
  • Completes all projects in a timely and professional manner

Controls

  • Oversees completion of required department reports
  • Ensures team members adhere to Company guidelines as stated in team member training manual and employee handbook
  • Effectively implements financial processes and systems to complete responsibilities
  • Oversees all payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable process
  • Oversees accuracy and timely submission of all payroll information
  • Ensures all sales reports and financial statements are accurate prior to distribution
  • Clearly communicates financial results to management on a regular basis

Team

  • Staffs department to meet operational needs
  • Uses all performance management tools to provide guidance and feedback to team
  • Displays a positive attitude towards team members
  • Promotes a cooperative work climate, maximizing productivity and morale
  • Conducts regular scheduled meetings to ensure lines of communication are open between management and department team members

Qualifications:

  • The Controller must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related discipline
  • The Controller should have a Minimum of 3 years accounting experience in a senior accounting or financial management role in the hospitality industry.
  • The Controller must have Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • The Controller must have impeccable analytical and organizational skills
  • Being Self-motivated and self-directed is mandatory for the Controller

  1. 5-8+ years’ experience  working in finance, showing career progression and preferably in a food and beverage operation
  2. Has good experience with pay roll systems , excel , POS systems , etc..
  3. Has managed a team
  4. Implemented financial systems to cut costs promote efficiencies,  give an example and what was the positive financial impact  
  5. Has an outgoing personality that they can communicate with other people and not just work crunching numbers
  6. Experience working with power point  / presentation software and can put together a presentation
