General Manager - Upscale DC Restaurant

Job Description
We're seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to lead our upscale restaurant in Washington, D.C. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned professional with a passion for excellence in hospitality and a proven track record in restaurant management.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Management
- Hiring and Training: Interview, onboard, and train new employees, ensuring they excel in both front-of-house and back-of-house operations.
- Scheduling: Create and manage staff schedules to ensure all shifts are properly covered.
Operations
- Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels, reorder supplies, negotiate rates and contracts with vendors, and ensure timely deliveries.
- Customer Service: Maintain a welcoming atmosphere and handle customer complaints with professionalism and empathy.
- Guest Relations: Listen to and act on customer feedback, whether it’s praise or constructive criticism.
Financial Oversight
- Finances: Monitor sales and expenses, create and manage budgets, and set financial goals to ensure profitability.
Quality Control
- Food Quality: Oversee food quality and enforce food handling and safety regulations.
Marketing and Promotion
- Marketing: Develop and implement marketing strategies to attract and retain customers.
Administrative Tasks
- Paperwork: Complete necessary paperwork, including sales, inventory, and staff attendance reports.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Management or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in the restaurant and food service industry, with experience in a fast-paced environment.

- Proficiency with restaurant technology, including point of sale systems.
- Excellent time management, organization, and communication skills.
