The Hotel Restaurant Assistant General Manager assists department head in oversight of the activities of the food and beverage departments. Ensures compliance with health, safety, sanitation and alcohol awareness standards. Helps ensure high standards of food and beverage quality, service and marketing to maximize profits and insure outstanding customer service. An interview, trains, supervises, coaches, schedules, and manages staff.
Responsible to coordinate and to participate in all activities of the food & beverage department including restaurant, banquet, and culinary staff by directing, training, and supervising all team members. Assisting sales in execution of all event orders. Ensure set up of all function rooms and ballroom for banquets, meetings, and other social functions. Provide food and beverage in all area functions.
Minimum Requirements and Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree preferred
- Hospitality certifications preferred
- 2+ years of experience hotel and restaurant management experience required
- 2+ years of hands-on, select or full-service brand experience
- Previous experience within premium brand preferred
- Excellent written and oral communication and leadership skills
Knowledge and Skills:
Working knowledge of hospitality departments: front office, maintenance, housekeeping and food and beverage
- Ability to work under pressure and deadlines
- Professional appearance and standards at all times
- Positive, motivating attitude ensuring a productive environment
- Strong Leadership ability: motivate, change, and lead others to success
- Proven track of ethical leadership and integrity
