Title of Position: Junior Sous Chef
Job Description: For us, our cuisine is a matter of pride; we know we can’t treat our guests to an amazing experience if we don’t have a talented Sous Chef in the kitchen. The Sous Chef must be culinary-driven because here you will work with the freshest ingredients, the cleanest kitchens, top of the line equipment, and standards of operation, simply unmatched in our industry. As a Sous Chef, you will be the primary “go-to” for the kitchen staff, meaning you have to be available to your team, while staying on top of the functions of the kitchen. We will count on your talent to motivate your team to create remarkable cuisine, and for you to be as committed to excellence as we are.

Qualifications:
· Three plus years of culinary management experience in a high-volume atmosphere is a requirement for the Sous Chef
· A requirement for the Sous Chef is a true passion for the development and mentoring of others
· The Sous Chef must be proficient in achieving financial results
· Honesty, integrity and a love for customer satisfaction are all qualities that the Sous Chef should possess
· The Sous Chef should always be able to provide consistent support to the success of the operation

Matt Bodnar began his career by quickly identifying himself has an up-and-coming Hospitality Operations Leader. From 2013 to 2018, he managed small and large-scale events on Yachts in New York Harbor, oversaw Concession-style service in a sports arena, and managed Food & Beverage at an upscale, boutique hotel in Manhattan, before moving to Philadelphia and entrenching himself in the Philly food scene. He switched gears into Talent Acquisition and recruiting, utilizing his operational experience to connect with and identify top talent in the industry. He is thrilled to be joining the Gecko Hospitality team, supporting the Restaurant Division in Eastern PA/DE.
Matt describes himself as a "Food Guy". He loves to cook, eat, garden, watch Food Network and connect with professionals in the business. Other hobbies include playing golf and basketball, hiking/camping/just about anything outside, snowboarding, listening to music and spending time with friends and family (hopefully soon). He is extremely service and relationship-oriented, and strives to anticipate client needs and guide a seamless partnership through placement after placement.
