Privately owned bar & restaurant, looking for a Kitchen Manager to run the property as they continue to expand and open new locations. Great opportunity to build sales and increase bonus payout! Weekend entertainment, open until 2am.
Job Description: The Restaurant Kitchen Manager will ensure the team executes stellar customer service at all times. Our Restaurant Kitchen Manager will be responsible for recruiting, training and managing functions of the bar personnel. Our Restaurant Kitchen Manager will have exceptional personal skills and will make themselves accessible for the staff to address questions or concerns. The Restaurant Kitchen Manager will conduct liquor inventories and be responsible for product ordering as well as bar budgets and assisting in booking entertainment, special events and promotions.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2+ years of current kitchen management experience at a high volume (over $2m per year in sales) Full Service concept
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Hands-on experience hiring, training, and developing hourly employees
- Ability to increase sales and build rapport in the community
- Excellent work ethic and drive to succeed
- Restaurant Kitchen Manager candidates must be proficient with financials (P&L's, inventory, food/labor cost, etc.)

Matt Bodnar began his career by quickly identifying himself has an up-and-coming Hospitality Operations Leader. From 2013 to 2018, he managed small and large-scale events on Yachts in New York Harbor, oversaw Concession-style service in a sports arena, and managed Food & Beverage at an upscale, boutique hotel in Manhattan, before moving to Philadelphia and entrenching himself in the Philly food scene. He switched gears into Talent Acquisition and recruiting, utilizing his operational experience to connect with and identify top talent in the industry. He is thrilled to be joining the Gecko Hospitality team, supporting the Restaurant Division in Eastern PA/DE.
Matt describes himself as a "Food Guy". He loves to cook, eat, garden, watch Food Network and connect with professionals in the business. Other hobbies include playing golf and basketball, hiking/camping/just about anything outside, snowboarding, listening to music and spending time with friends and family (hopefully soon). He is extremely service and relationship-oriented, and strives to anticipate client needs and guide a seamless partnership through placement after placement.
