Restaurant Maintenance Technician - Denver Market

Gecko Hospitality is now searching for an experienced Maintenance Technician with restaurant background based in the Denver market. The ideal Maintenance & Service Technician is a skilled, hands-on individual who can perform a wide range of repairs and maintenance tasks on commercial food service equipment and facilities.

Responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance and repairs on ventilation, air conditioning, and HVAC systems to ensure optimal functionality.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues with HVAC systems to minimize downtime.
• Conduct routine maintenance tasks, including upkeep of lighting assets, worktables, and sinks to meet health department and company standards.
• Provide technical guidance and on-the-job training to junior team members to enhance their skills.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities using Facilities Maintenance Software and ensure compliance with federal EPA regulations regarding refrigerant dispensing.
• Utilize computer-based monitoring systems to efficiently maintain and troubleshoot HVAC systems.

Requirements:

• Strong sense of urgency, high level of organization and attention to detail, and willingness to step in and do whatever it takes.
• Ability to pass a Background Check and Drug Screening is required by employer
• Self-motivated with a proven ability to work autonomously with integrity and with minimal direct supervision, while promptly completing assigned tasks.
• Proficient with power tools including welders.
• Plumbing and/or electrical certifications are a plus.
• Interpersonal skills to interact with restaurant personnel in a pleasant manner.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting and repair experience
• Knowledge of High Voltage AC Power (3 Phase)
• Understanding of advanced principles of air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating.
• Knowledge of HVAC installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance.
• Knowledge of refrigerant recovery.
• Knowledge of mechanical equipment, plumbing, utilities, distribution systems, and controls, including maintenance, troubleshooting, and wiring.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds up to 25 feet. Occasional lifting and carrying, with or without assistance, of items up to 70 pounds.
• Ability to work in damp and/or humid conditions, coolers/freezers at freezing temperatures, moving mechanical parts, heated surfaces, liquids, and risk of electrical shock.
