Job Description

We are seeking a Restaurant Manager for our full-service, upscale dining restaurant, within our award-winning, 50-room full-service, independent boutique hotel in beautiful Waterville, Maine. Our Restaurant features creative cuisine with locally sourced ingredients, highlighted by an all-encompassing craft cocktail program, a high-end wine list, and an award-winning Chef of the Year by Maine Hospitality. Our Restaurant Manager must be a hands-on operator who works hip-to-hip with the team, strengthening teamwork and guest service, creating an incredible visit for every guest. Our Restaurant Manager will deliver an unrelenting pursuit to develop our team and enhance the overall guest experience at every turn during their time with us!

 

Responsibilities

  • Oversee a team of employees including assisting in hiring, development, scheduling, and training
  • Ensure a high level of service in all aspects of operations and give each guest a memorable dining experience from start to finish.
  • Create a service-first work environment.
  • Ensure cleanliness of the front of the house areas including windows, light fixtures, and entrance as assigned.
  • Assign service-related tasks to servers.
  • Ensure dining tables are properly prepared for service.
  • Communicate to staff all current menu choices, specials, and menu deviations, or if the kitchen staff is running out of items.
  • Assist with special events as needed.
  • Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently.
  • Understand and communicate products and services available at the hotel.
  • Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures.
  • Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to Human Resources
  • Ensure team members’ uniforms are neat and professional and grooming standards have been followed
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets.
  • Anticipate and address guests’ service needs.
  • Thank guests with genuine appreciation.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others.
  • Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards.

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of Restaurant Management experience.
  • Ability to direct and coordinate the organization’s goals and objectives.
  • Hands-on leadership style, ability to build, coach, and develop a team.
  • Exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality, performing all duties as required or requested.
  • Be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays when the restaurant is open and based upon the needs of the business.
  • Familiarity with POS system
  • Previous experience scheduling FOH Team
  • Previous experience with End of Night Reporting
