Salary: Up to $67,000 per annum, plus bonus and insurance benefits
We are a farm-fresh fast-casual restaurant located in La Jolla, CA, committed to delivering healthy and flavorful meals. We're currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Sous Chef to join our kitchen team. Our ideal candidate will have a background in fast-casual or fine dining kitchen operations, a passion for fresh, farm-to-table food, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and quality.
Assist the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations
Participate in the creation and preparation of farm-fresh dishes while ensuring consistent quality
Oversee kitchen staff, including training, managing work schedules, and conducting performance reviews
Enforce high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and sanitation in the kitchen
Assist in controlling operational costs and minimize waste
Participate in the selection of food suppliers and the sourcing of fresh ingredients
Step in as acting Head Chef in their absence
Maintain a collaborative and respectful kitchen environment
Address and resolve any food quality or service complaints swiftly and professionally
Contribute to menu planning and innovation
Minimum of 3 years of culinary experience in a restaurant, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
Formal culinary training is preferred
Knowledge of food safety regulations and kitchen hygiene practices
Passion for farm-fresh, local cuisine and knowledge of food trends
Ability to manage and motivate a kitchen team in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and organizational skills
This position offers a competitive base salary of up to 67000 based on 50 hours a week (5 x 10s) , gauranteed bonuse of 500 per month, and insurance benefits.
