Our client is searching for a Sous Chef that will bring new ideas and a sense of enthusiasm to their kitchen! The ideal Sous Chef will be possess a team focused, professional attitude and a passion for the industry. The property is located in beautiful Georgian Bay area and reflects the First Nations traditions and décor with modern meeting rooms, conference room and full-service restaurant. This year-round facility and position caters to business conventions and weddings. The outdoor dining area that leaves nothing at all to be desired! A spectacular view of Georgian Bay and the surrounding Mountain range. The Sous Chef will be the leader of the culinary staff and expected to coach, mentor and develop the team consistently, as well as maintaining, creating excellent food for all guests.

Title of Position: Sous Chef

Job Description: Sous Chef will be responsible for all back of the house operations. The Sous Chef will be held accountable for interviewing, training and coaching the culinary team. A positive and welcoming atmosphere must be maintained at all times to ensure a comfortable workplace for the team. The Sous Chef will also manage all back of the house administrative functions such as product ordering, scheduling and culinary staff labor costs. The Sous Chef will work closely with the Executive Chef to ensure absolute guest satisfaction and staff compliance to policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • The Sous Chef must have restaurant management experience of at least 2 years Experience in banquets and special functions
  • A passion for mentoring and developing others is a must
  • A basic understanding of COGS and Labour
  • The Sous Chef must be extremely guest oriented with the highest degree of honesty and integrity
  • Must be willing to relocate
