Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: Sous Chef in Sedona, AZ

As a Sous Chef you will:

·        Manage and supervise: You will ensure compliance with all Food & Beverage policies, standards, and procedures, manage kitchen shift operations, and develop new relationships, systems, and products.

  • Estimate daily production needs: You will determine daily kitchen production needs and communicate them to kitchen personnel on a daily basis.
  • Assist with all kitchen operations: You will develop, design, or create new food applications, create decorative food displays, and maintain food storage standards.
  • Purchase and receive: You may need to assist with purchasing and receiving of food supplies when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance: You will ensure food handling and sanitation standards are in place and compliant with all applicable laws and regulations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities of a Sous Chef in Sedona, AZ.

As the ideal candidate for this role, you should possess:

  • 2 years of similar experience: You should have experience in Restaurant Chef, Banquet Chef or similar roles.
  • Culinary-specific education: You should have a passion for food and be knowledgeable about current menu trends and concepts, as well as possess strong culinary skills.
  • Efficient time management: You should be able to manage administrative responsibilities while maintaining a primary focus on the kitchen operation.
  • Ability to forecast product needs: You should be able to accurately determine how much food is needed on a daily or weekly basis.
  • Strong business acumen: You should be able to manage labor and food costs, as well as have menu engineering and menu development skills.
