Title of Position: Sous Chef
Job Description: The Sous Chefs’ main priority is to effectively train and manage kitchen staff, supervise/coordinate all associated culinary activities; estimate food usage and purchase food; choose and develop recipes; standardize production recipes to ensure consistent quality; establish presentation technique and quality standards; plan and price menus; ensure proper equipment operation/ maintenance; and ensure proper safety and sanitation in the kitchen. The ideal candidate will ensure quality culinary dishes are served on schedule, and to see issues resolved when they happen. The Sous Chef is expected to modify and develop new menus as needed so they remain effective for the purposes of creating continued culinary pull to the restaurant.
