Sous Chef
Job Description
- Assist the Executive Chef in managing all kitchen operations, ensuring the highest quality of food preparation and presentation.
- Supervise and lead kitchen staff, including cooks, prep cooks, and dishwashers, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation.
- Help create and execute seasonal menus that align with the restaurant’s concept and offer unique, high-quality dishes.
- Maintain food safety and sanitation standards, ensuring all kitchen staff adhere to proper hygiene and safety protocols.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff, providing guidance and development opportunities to foster a positive and productive team environment.
- Ensure food is prepared in a timely manner and meets the restaurant’s standards for quality, taste, and presentation.
- Assist in managing inventory, ordering supplies, and controlling food costs to maintain budgetary guidelines.
- Oversee kitchen cleanliness and organization, ensuring that workstations, equipment, and storage areas are maintained to a high standard.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless communication between the kitchen and dining room, ensuring guest satisfaction.
- Handle customer feedback, complaints, and special dietary requests, ensuring that all concerns are addressed professionally and promptly.
- 3+ years of experience as a Sous Chef, Line Cook, or similar role in a high-end or fine-dining restaurant.
- Strong culinary skills with a thorough understanding of kitchen operations, food preparation, and presentation.
- Proven leadership and team management experience, with the ability to motivate and train kitchen staff.
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation regulations, and health compliance.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
