Staff Accountant
Job Description
We are seeking a Staff Accountant to oversee the financial operations for our independent lifestyle hotel and spa. The ideal candidate should possess strong knowledge of Income Statements and Balance Sheets, meticulous attention to detail in data entry and record keeping, exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively, proficiency in financial report writing and analysis, and the ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive financial information. This position is on-site in Queens.
Responsibilities
- Create and manage financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis
- Make informed financial decisions and prepare reports
- Work with outsourced CPA firm to prepare sales tax calculations and assist with audits
- Track profit and expenses, identify areas for improvement
- Manage loan closing, refinancing, and yearly review processes
- Prepare financials for corporate and shareholder tax returns
- Use QuickBooks for financial record management
- Handle book closing and the final issuance of audit reports
- Address audit inquiries on key financials in a timely manner
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of Income Statements and Balance Sheets
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
- Proficiency in financial report writing and analysis
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information
- Experience with QuickBooks
