Job Description

Position Summary: As the Systems and POS Administrator, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, configuration, and maintenance of the company’s systems and Point of Sale (POS) platform. Your role will focus on the upkeep of membership and inventory databases, providing technical support for daily POS operations, and ensuring that systems are optimized to enhance store performance. You will collaborate closely with store staff to ensure system functionality aligns with business needs. Strong communication, store operations knowledge, and technical proficiency are critical to this role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Technical Support: Provide prompt, hands-on technical assistance for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems and POS software.
  • Documentation & Inventory Management: Maintain and update IT documentation, while also managing inventory databases to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Process Improvement: Identify repetitive tasks and develop solutions to enhance company and team efficiency through workflow optimizations.
  • POS System Configuration: Collaborate with management to configure the POS system in line with operational and business needs.
  • Database Management: Oversee the maintenance of membership and inventory databases, ensuring data is up-to-date and accurately reflects store operations.
  • Reporting: Prepare comprehensive inventory, membership, and financial reports as needed.
  • Inventory Coordination: Organize equipment and staff for quarterly inventory audits and reconcile physical inventory with system data.
  • Technology Awareness: Stay current on retail and POS technology, recommending updates or changes that align with company goals.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to POS, coordinating with external vendors or technicians as needed.
  • Staff Training: Work closely with store personnel to ensure they fully understand system functionality and related processes.
  • Process Development: Establish and continuously refine operational processes to improve efficiencies related to system management.
  • IT Collaboration: Work with the IT department to develop and execute long-term strategies for system upgrades and enhancements.
Skills, Abilities, and Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant systems experience, with preference for candidates from the restaurant industry.
  • Solid understanding of fast-casual restaurant operations and processes; familiarity with hospitality POS systems is a plus.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new applications and systems.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with high ethical standards and cultural awareness.
  • Previous experience in customer service is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Capable of managing fluctuating workloads, staying productive during slower periods, and multitasking in fast-paced environments.
Education Requirements:
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Relevant MIS or IT certifications are advantageous.
